Does anyone else ever feel as if they are too accessible?

Don't get me wrong, I love having a cell phone, but what happened to the day when you called someone's home phone and if they didn't answer the call that meant that they weren't home, not that they just didn't want to talk. If you call someone's cell phone and leave a message, there is no way that they don't know that you didn't call.

Sometimes I get home from work and I just want to turn off the TV, computer, and cell phone just to have some quiet time.

Yesterday during group, my kids were CRAZY!!! They were basically jumping off the walls and I attribute that to Dr. Seuss's (sp?) birthday. Twice I had to step out of the room just to be able to gather my thoughts. God knew exactly what I needed though because as soon as I got two of the wildest children in the car to take them on a 30 minute drive home, they became eerily quiet. The children shared with me that they were tired and they both were resting their eyes. God knew that I needed that. After I dropped the kids off, I turned my radio off and just drove in silence. Oprah does that too. I just needed peace for a second. I needed to not be so accessible to the world. I needed to not have to listen to anyone and to not have to communicate either. I just wanted to be.

I think that's why I enjoy getting up early in the mornings. I enjoy not having to rush and being able to sit and enjoy the fact that I am alone.

You Won't Believe It

THIS is what I am eating right at this very second:

Can you believe it?

It contains a premium blend of

soy nuts

cranberries

almonds

pumpkin kernels

NO SUGAR!!!

I almost feel like a vegetarian, but I have discovered that I have a problem. If I have a snack sitting at my desk at work then I will eat it. I tried not to have food at my desk and not go downstairs to the kitchen, except that around 10:00 I get really really hungry. I bought this bag of "Natural Goodness" because my mom (the health guru) had some when I went home.

It's actually not that bad because the cranberries add a little sweetness to it. It's like a surprise for the tongue!

I also have woken up early the past 2 mornings and worked out. This morning was hard, not because I was tired but because I was sore for the morning before. That's a good sign for me though, because it shows that I was actually doing something. This morning I ended up not doing the whole 20 minute workout because I ran out of time in order to get ready for work. I was okay with that though and didn't let myself feel like a failure because I did get my heart rate up and I worked out my arms and legs. 15 minutes is better than nothing at all.

I have been doing Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. I read the reviews on it and everyone who was actually doing it for 30 days saw results. WhooHooo!! Hopefully I can keep it up.

A relative easy goal

I am finally achieving a goal.

I set goals all the time.
Such as:
1. Don't eat out as much
2. Plan meals ahead of time.
3. Coupon!
4. Workout
5. Stay away from cokes
6. Become a superstar

Many of these goals have yet to be met, or I'll work towards them briefly and then I forget about them. I did make a goal to grow out my nails.

I don't bite my nails, but I did pick at them which caused them to be relatively short. They weren't gross short though!! I decided that I was going to paint them a bright or dark color so that I wouldn't mess with them and it worked!!

My nails are looking good, even though the middle finger nail broke the other day.:( I know that this is a very vain blog topic, but you have to understand that I don't meet very many of my goals and the fact that this goal is going well and I am seeing the fruits of my labors is very encouraging. The other day I really did think,"If I can grow my nails, then surely I can complete other goals." They sure are lookin' good. I even awarded my nails by buying myself O.P.I. nailpolish the other day, just to say thank you and that I care.

My New Favorite Thing

I'm telling you this stuff is amazing. I have naturally oily oily skin. It's genetic (thanks mom!). I have struggled with it my whole life. I have tried EVERYTHING!! Yes, I know I could use those little blot paper thingys but who wants to rely on those every few hours. I wanted a solution to a constant problem.

One day, I had HAD it!!! I was ready to spend some big bucks. I checked out the Sephora website. I had never shopped there before but I know that they are the gurus of all things beauty. I searched and searched the website and read reviews of anything that might help. I found this product. It have very good reviews. One person complained that it dried out her skin, but I thought that's exactly what I need. I was also presently surprised that it was only $34.00. That is doable, if it works. You got 3 things in one and it was supposed to last a while. My skin is like someone else's skin now.

Now, it isn't a miracle product. BUT it's 11:10 am and my face is still not oily from this morning's shower. It's amazing. I'm in love with a facesoap (To the tune of I'm in luv with a stripper).

Apparently, I have skills that were hidden under the surface.
I am a Gotcha Expert.
I refrain from being modest, because it is the truth.
I'm not conceited, I'm convinced.
If this was not true, then why after 10 years of taking a hiatus from the game was I able to make continuous "nothing but net" shots last night.
See?
I am an expert.
In fact I heard the following phrases during my reign as Gotcha Queen last night:
Lebron James
You must have played college ball
She's a murderer
Don't get in front of her because she'll get you out.
So yes. I am an expert.
I will start taking endorsements and start advertising my new tennis shoes any day now.
Oh, is that my phone ringing? Be right back.
Okay, it was Nike and New Balance. I will have to get back with them to decide which shoe deal was the most lucrative.
I think I will endorse good sports bras for the more blessed women.
In fact, I will called them "Blessed" or...
"Buttercups" because
Why do you build me up (Build me up) Buttercup baby just to let me down (Let me down)
See? I've thought about this. I will sign autographs for the fans.
Please, feel free to deflate my ego when needed.

I DID IT!!!!!!!!

I did it, Everyone!! I'm so proud of myself, I could just shout it from the rooftops!!

Not really. But I am proud of myself.

Last night I was determined to get on the treadmill. Determined. That's the only way that you will get me on that treadmill. It's in a room without a TV that's basically our junk room. This room holds things that need to be taken to the dump, but haven't made their way yet.

But I had an idea! The bulb went on above me and I knew that it was sent from God.

This was my idea:
I would put a DVD in the laptop and then put the laptop on the treadmill. Last night I chose Grey's Anatomy Season 5 DVD. It was pure genius!!!!

I plugged my headphones in the laptop and was determined that I would walk/jog during the entire episode. That would mean 42-44 minutes of exercise. I have zero motivation. Nothing works. Even thinking about how I am going to be a bridesmaid and that I need to look HOTT in my dress doesn't work. I try thinking about how it's good for my health. Nope. Nada. I even have tried Stephanie's method of being tough like Jane Pauley. Nothing.

So here I was speed walking and then throwing some jogging in there for fun. I got to about 35 minutes and I was tired. I had sweat dripping off of my face. Typically, this would have been when I would have stopped and said Good Job! but not last night!!!!! I just kept going. Towards the end-I was determined that I was going to run through the end of the race (episode). The finish line was there!! I SPRINTED (as much as you can on a treadmill) and I imagined that the crowd was yelling for me,"Go Dana!!! You can do it!!" At one point, I was waving to my "crowd of adoring fans."

I made it!! I was so proud of myself. I then immediately ran to the full length mirror to see if my stomach was flatter. HAHAHA! Let's just be honest here, if the results were that quick, then there would not be another obese person around. I was so proud of myself and I plan on doing it again tonight.

After my Grey's is over, then there will be newer episodes posted online. And then there's The Office, The Cosby Show, and Friends is online!! Watch out!
